I think you are putting to much into this. In the last stages, Dumoulin was up front in most of the stage, but got dropped in the last k's. It's still not the last climb to come.

Sure, but the scenario looks the same as yesterday. Tom is in the cards for winning the Vuelta if he looses less than a minute today.
Am I the only one who thinks that Aru wont loose more than 2 minutes in the ITT?

Nah, I think he'll be safe if he can take another 20ish seconds today.

Back in 2010 Velits took 2 and a half minutes on Nibali in TT.

You guys are underestimating the Sierra de Madrid stage. It tends to open up quite large gaps.

I really hope so. It has potential for some serious action. If there's only seconds between the top guys, we could see the top guys putting men in the breakaway and maybe use them to sustain a gap after attacking long range. But I still doubt that will happen.

no . . . However, I think Majka will gain a minute on Aru

So you think Dumoulin will be dead on wednesday? Its a flat TT, if Majka takes a minute, Dumoulin takes 2 or 3. You realise how good a time trialist Dumoulin is? Of course, if he's dead tired he wont, but it just doesn't look like it.

Third week time trial. Every time this forum is full of people posting their absolute certainty that something will happen.

Every time they're shocked and say they didn't see it coming despite so many warning them that there would be surprises

no. I think Dumoulin will take 2min on Aru, and Majka will take 1 min on Aru. That is realistic. Dumoulin is definitely in the battle for the overall win, but he cannot close a 3 minute gap.
