Thanks to baroncheli of the Spanish forums.
Cant believe how massive they look compared to todays GC contenders (except our current leader). They weren't counting their grains of rice in the 80's were they.

Yes they looked like humans then!!! But in person where still very slim but Not Skeletors!

They would get dropped by the skeletons though. Unfortunately.

There were only a couple skeletons Gert-Jan Theunisse, Robert Millar. Guys that didn't win GC.

I think that riding bread and water and all things such as equipment being the same the GC guys nowadays would blow them apart on a climb.

What the heck are you talking about?????
Your Contador comment. Nobody knows anything their true potential.

In this subforum everyone rides on bread and water. And it's the only forum I participate in. Nowhere do I ever refer to anything clinical, Period.

Just tuned in. What's the status?

Machado attacks. Machado is caught. Machado drops.
Machado getting dropped isn't news. That he attacks is though :D
He really has become a parody of his younger self.

Oh well.

He is fighting for the stage, which is something that the other 19-guys from the breakaway can't say.

In his first years he would never have been dropped like that. And now is struggling to keep up on the flat.

Valverde really wants to finish on the podium

But he's the least dangerous tbh. His attacks are not impressive at all.
Pretty hard to attack on a 4% climb though. He's probably just using it for training; getting some real zip back in the legs before the big one day races he's got lined up.
