Sagan won a stage, demonstrating that the Vuelta isn't raced quite at the level the Tour is raced at.

Your conclusion is obviously true, the rest of your statement is as wrong as it can get
The Vuelta is definitely raced at a level below the Tour- look at the form of who is lining up. Very rarely to riders peaks solely for the Vuelta, instead focussing on the Tour, Giro or the worlds.

I said his conclusion is true, learn to read.

But his premise that sagan isn't good enough to win stages in the tour is ***.

Exactly. Peter already won some Tour stages with lots of "almost" wins as well.

True. For the original statement to be logically valid, it requires the additional (also in my opinion completely invalid) predicator "Sagan is not good enough to win at the Tour". But it wasn't stated, hence my previous objection ;)

I also agree that the conlusion is obviously valid, despite the invalidity of the argument.

I thought you were saying that Sagan winning was true but the vuelta < tour was not. While Sagan in my opinion was the strongest rider in the tour, the fact he has not won a stage in the tour since 2013 proves just how high the level of competition is.

(Plus saying "Sagan won a stage" is not a conclusion, it is a fact. Him saying this demonstrated vuelta < tour is a conclusion). :)

It seems he couldn't see anything with his left eye and had a quite bad headache. Nonetheless he asked to start the race and see how he would feel after warming up... he had to stop soon after. Too dangerous, for him and for the other riders as well.

I wonder if Orica will race those climbs hard to try and put the fast men into danger, they have guys like Gerrans and Impey who can win from a greatly reduced bunch.

There is a climb of 1.5km at 7% about 5k from the finish. I dont think the likes of degenkolb, bouhanni will survive this if someone (orica?) drills it. Could be a funky finish. Maybe Gerro?!

More like 4%...

Either way, if full trained top pro sprinters cant jump over that little pump with enough road to recover til the finish... well... they are no pros. That being said: Full sprint stage unless some (of them sprinters) got dropped in the early part of this stage. So, Pelucchi FTW... err... its Pelucchi, the guy who cant stay upright in a GT. So Bouhanni FTW.

Looks like 7% to me, and only 4k from the finish. I think the sprinters are gonna struglle to survive

Told you so. :D

1. Bouhanni
2. Degenkolb
3. Ewan

You can scratch Ewan on two counts.

One; he's just not strong enough to be able to sustain top pace for long enough ..... and quite possibly will never be.

Two; he's likely to have been dropped off the back long before the finish. He's not yet up to coping with the pace of a GT peleton when "the hammer's dropped".
Hehe.

Wrong stage. He was way off the pace here ;)
