let's hope so, but they are late again with the stage communiqué, which may not be a good sign. It's not like there was much to report today.

Tomorrow again there'll be strong wind at the eastern end of the Pyrenees but weaker than today. Not sure how it unfolds, depends on the finish location specificity.

Is that something that happens daily in normal circumstances?

there's normally a comuniqué with the standings, jury decisions etc after every race/stage, yeah. Not all races make them publicly available online, but Catalunya does.

But there could be other reasons for a delay as well, of course. Like a longer transfer to the hotel, or people having dinner first ;).

Curious how much damage Visma will do as a team tomorrow before Vingegaard sends it.

Forecasts I‘ve consulted (windy.com) have stormy conditions both to the west in Andorra and towards the Mediterranean coast, but no dangerous winds away from the Main ridge of the Pyrenees where the race is. They shouldn‘t take a wrong Turn towards the Pal in Andorra maybe.

Neutering of a big GC stage should always be a last chance saloon, not something that is done a day earlier just in case. Specially if the reason for worry is something as quickly changing and unreliable as the wind. Maybe the wind would have rendered any serious attacks on the mountain futile regardless , but the way the final climb was taken out just reeks of attitude unfitting for professional outdoor sport.
I think many of us here agree with you.. The UCI already banned high profile rims for safety reasons. Nobody is racing on 50-60s in windy conditions or with lots of climbing.
Temperature does look so serious but @100k winds is an issue, can't really set up the finish line, can't use motorcycles, especially 2 up. Helicopters are likely a no go if it's 100k plus or minus. But setting up promotional stuff along finishing area is too dangerous for assembly and disassembly and chance of big plastic sheets catching wind and knocking things down, seriously considered. And everything is metal, so if that comes crashing down, serious problems..
Emergency response could be inhibited with that type of wind.

So no cancellation yet? Is there a chance to complete the whole stage? Imagine head wind being so strong that the Bullet Man crushes the Fisherman uphill.

Big day today. I'm curious to see the gap between Almeida and Vingegaard in a very hard mountain stage. Pidcock and Remco will probably lose minutes today.
They were (until today) trying to gain bonifications and I was wondering why.
Remco, even tried to go on a break, probably to justify he is not good enough in the mountains.

Tom said before the race he won't go for GC, but you never know.

I didn't know about Pidcock. But Remco definitely said he was here for the GC. He is probably trying to be a protagonist before he gets slapped in the face by Vingegaard. I just think this is just a rider with zero winning mentality, trying to protect his fragile ego.

Don't expect much from Evenepoel and neither does his DS Patxi Villa after his crash. The biggest impact is 48 hours after crash which is today. He can be happy if he finishes top 10.

Yeah, Remco GC is ruined after that crash. If he somehow manages to stay close that's some achievement. But maybe not in his best interests with the Ardennes coming up. Vingegaard rivals are now Almeida, Onley and Lipo. Remco is out.

He wouldn't have contested the intermediate sprints if he truly didn't care. Not that it means he will be able to follow the strongest riders in the mountains, but he will try his best.
