A lot of riders ditching their glasses and radios for weight purposes but still need their bike computers for power readings?
I see Bardet now with glasses and his radio. De Gendt starts with glasses and aero helmet haha.

Herrada +26s, Hesjedal +35s

Lars vd Haar starting, I suspect he'll take his bike onto his shoulder and run the steepest parts :p are there any stairs?? Lars is great at running up stairs in cleats, he's just missing some mud :p

Contador will beat Froome by 15 seconds I reckon, although it's ominous that De Jongh has mentioned 11:10 as the winning time...

Tbf 11'49 isn't a great time for someone of Froome's calibre. I reckon that on dry roads, 11'00 is possible for the top top riders in peak condition. That would be 6.9% quicker, and I wouldn't be surprised if Froome has 6.9% between him now and his peak in July.

Anton with a somehow not emberrassing time

Always people coming from the Giro are very strong at the begining of the Dauphine, thay just to fade just the 2 last stages...so that way Hesjedal, Landa, Anton or Herrada are doing very well.

You're right, though it's easy to forget Anton was at the Giro :eek:

Pinot looked forward to this TT, but also added that Contador put a minute on him in Pais Vasco.

Froomes time will be hard to beat looking at the other times.

Froome is going to have a top time at the end of the day, with Porte, Contador or Poels or someone possbily going quicker. That's more or less the level he had last year as well relative to the competition. He just doesn't do peak performance outside the Tour, and hasn't for some time.

A Reichenbach and Si Clarke race is worse...

Power estimate for Froome
Assumptions: 67kg, 3.9km @ 9.7%, air density 1.07 kg/m^3, wind speed 0m/s, c_rr=0.004, cdA=0.35
P_rr = 16W
P_grav = 392W
P_air = 31W
P_losses = 11W

P_total = 451W (7W/kg)

About 20W off Madone 2013 form

Doesn't Lil' Richie have the Madone record?
