In the next week we get a finish at the top of a Cat 3, some good Cat 1 and 2, the highly anticipated stage 14, and a MTT.

Etixx have been big winners of the first half; they have had the breadth of performances they wish they had in the spring with 3 stage wins, and the top-2 places in the Pink Jersey, White Jersey competitions. Lotto Soudal are also performing well, with diverse wins from sprints and a breakaway. Roglic is the new star, and Domoulin ushered in some momentum for Giant-Alpicin that was missing through the first half of the season.

Lots of teams without wins so far, but to early to declare any teams losers so far. I expect some colorful breakaways as Bardiani, Gazprom-Rusvelo, Nippo Vini-Fanitini, Southeast, and others all light up the bigger, mountain breakaways. The mountains are wide open, and the mountains this week will give the points competition an overhaul.

The Etixx 1-2 will have to face off against the mountain goats and GC men. Amador and Nibali held off early hiccups and are into 3rd and 5th place. Kruijswijk showed brought his 3rd week attrition to the Giro from day 1, with some savvy to earn seconds early on. Landa was a big winner of the time trial, limiting his losses better than anyone could predict, opposite of Zakarin, missing an opportunity to gain time on his rivals. Ulissi is leading Uran... Half of this thread will be about Dumoulin going or not going for GC, but I everyone agrees the current GC order is not settled.

Brambilla will go full Voeckler.
Jungels will probably drop out of the top 10, there are just too many great climbers in the top 20 and Ryder (16th) is only 3:28 behind him and the high mountains should be brutal.
Right now it looks like the weather will be good in the Dolomites, about 15°C and sunshine in Corvara, that would be perfect climbing weather.
