I like the onscreen timing box including more information than usual. Both gradients, plus also the groups are numbered to make clear there are unimportant groups in between.

Fuglsang vs. Nibali could be entertaining like Landa vs. Aru last year...

In my dream other teams should do the trolling now by letting him go for some awkward gap

Yeah, I like that as well even though it's probably inaccurate as hell.

Fuglsang needs to take advantage of a Giant only chase and pull the gap out. When stronger teams hit the front the peloton will speed up.

What stronger teams? Astana?

Edit: Ok, Movistar has come, but they don't look that strong.

Maybe too late for Movistar to try the bonus...Wellens is very strong. Anyway they cant allow Fuglsang to take more time.

This could be a pretty good way for Astana to test the other teams' strength. Movistar and Sky surely can't allow Fuglsang to ride home with a big gap, so they will have to react at some point if he gets a bigger gap.

The Giro isn't littered with superteams, but quite a few teams can muster stronger climbing domestiques than Giant.

What about the weird Vaseline-slick halo on the camera at the head of the peloton? We've a true auteur holding a camera on a moto.

I don't get why Movistar aren't riding. Or Lampre.

Movistar yes, Valverde had a very big chance to gain at least 10 seconds here. Astana and Sky happy.
I think the earlier weather put a damper on their plans for the stage. Piti hates crap weather, and I doubt he's gotten any more keen on it upon turning 36. It's just as well for him. I'd think his best strategy for the next few stages is to remain as fresh as possible for the time trial.

Wellens very strong so far. He has barely lost 20 seconds in the last 3 km.

Fuglsang stopped gaining time when he was joined by Suitsou. It may be that he chose working with another rider, albiet slower, than a faster individual pursuit to save some energy.

There are still 6k to go.

I don't think Fuglsang will go for the stage, but he will go off again to try to keep his gap above 30" to the Pink Jersey.

Wellens has the stage wrapped up, unless one of his fellow escapees has a Lazarus-like recovery.

The fact that Tinkoff and Movistar are helping Giant has resulted in the gap from Fuglsang and Siustov never getting much above 40 and now below 30s.

It was nice while it lasted. I wonder what will happen next.
