Btw, is who's going to Apeldoorn if I may ask?
I'm in the velodrome right now. Will probably leave at some point to go to the finish tho

How crowded is it?
It's not particularly terrible atm. Still plenty of space
Enjoy it Eshnar! ...and take pics of Zaka and Betancur and post them in physical comparison :D
Nah I'll be off to the finish by that time. :p

Wish I could be there! The time trial in Utrecht last year was awesome and the weather today is great. Too bad I have exams ...

Dumoulin FTW

Vorobyev crashed?

Don't know. But he was 5 seconds faster at the intermediate, and Hofland ended up being 10 seconds faster, so either he made a mistake somewhere, or started too fast I guess.

A crash would result in more time loss obviously.
Could be anything. Poor corner, flat tire or ran put of gas.

Isn't prologue technically under ten, not eight kilometres?
Please see UCI regulation 2.6.006: "A prologue may be included in stage races on condition that:
(...) it must not exceed 8 km".
Thanks, that's why am asking - because there is always someone who knows more. And I don't even need to see the UCI regulation, I believe you :)
Anyway when this changed? I thought that it used to be 10 kilometres. Maybe I'm wrong.

Does anyone have a link to the splittimes?

edit: found it

http://www.giroditalia.it/eng/live/
and of course it's not updated

my god giro organisation has become more terrible every year
you have to manually refresh the page, I've found F5 on some PCs
it says auto refresh on the link and besides refreshing the page doesn't work

Monster time from Kangert
I think you are a bit generous with the term 'monster time'. It's good, but nothing special I think.

I didn't expect it to be faster than Tuft, Greipel et.al
Tuft, the 38 years old and Greipel, the sprinter... ;)

Shorter than 10 months from now they've raced a similar TT in the Tour. And Tuft was clearly faster.
And Tuft is a specialist in suchlike courses. And IIRC Kangert has never had a top 10 in ITT in the last three years except Valdobbiadene ITT in the Giro.

Edit: I accept the term monster was a bit exaggerated.
