If we have SKY bots as term for SKY fans on here I think a good term for Contador fans on here is Bertie Looneys

It isn't a term for Sky fans, it's a term for their riders when in "that mode"

There are a few people who refer to Sky fans as bots too, Bertie looney's is funny but after today is understandable after that final. Each to their own I suppose! :D

I managed to avoid hearing anything about the stage beforehand and just watched the final 41k which I guess was the entire broadcast.

What a ride by Henao! Congrats to him. He seems to be fully back on the trajectory he was on before his injury. You gotta wonder at what point he's going to get a chance to lead some of the bigger races. I'm thinking he might need to go to another team to truly see his full potential. Smart move for Thomas to put on the bigger chainring. Those guys rode a helluva descent.

Absolutely stellar racing from AC. He did everything he could possibly do to win given the circumstances. I haven't seen him make that many attacks in a while. It bodes well for the rest of the year.

I have mixed feelings on Gallopin. And what happened to Dumo?

I still can't believe some people thought Bling had a chance to win this.

Did you watch the last 41 K online? If so, do you have a link?

I downloaded it from cyclingtorrents.

Bloody great race, Thomas was obviously suffering on the climbs today after giving everything on Saturday but rode like a hero when it mattered and the rapid dynamics of the opportunist alliances on the road when the final dice were thrown was absolutely first class.. All credit to Contador for giving it everything on the last stage. Contador lost this race on Saturday really. Thomas was on his limits on Saturdays climb up the Madone and was lucky that Contador for once screwed up the tactics totally. He and Majka were the two best climbers and they failed to rip it apart because Majka went far too soon. Had they let Sky carry on their usual predictable self flagellation for longer and Majka timed his effort to finish on the Kilo to go point, Contador would have had Thomas on the ropes, he'd have taken much more than 4 seconds. He underestimated Thomas, perhaps he'll have more respect now. I can't wait to see Thomas in Paris Roubaix this year, with no Wiggo to worry about.

He isn't racing Roubaix. Only cobbles he's racing this year is Flanders.

I'm really tired of the generalizations. A couple of Contador fans made some emotional and ill advised posts yet the reference are always to 'Bertie fans', not 'some' or 'a few'. Just sayin.....

Yes I know. That's why I said 'a few' in my post too. I've learned to keep off the internet if I'm ever in a really foul mood. Does way more harm than good

You're normally one of the realistic, rational ones and I really appreciate that :). But you did say the bolded agreeing with the bolded in the previous comment.

There are Many Berto fans that made absolutely no derogatory comments about anything even in the heat of the close finish. Just sayin!

People whining about Gallopin, jezus f*cking christ.
Wellens won, he came in 4th and jumped to the 8th place in the GC. He couldve lost his top 10 place if they didn't close the gap.
I'm a Contador fan too, but just stop b*tching about a normal set of tactics. He wasn't chasing his own teammate, he was chasing the group that was chasing that teammate.

Gallopin can ride for whoever he wants. He doesn't have to ask anybody in this forum if its is OK, LOL. If the coach is fine with it so be it.

If Rugby is a good reason for him, then I don't care. If they share the same taste in colors, then I don't give a rat a$$ either. I saw why the coach let him do it just in case they needed to make sure that they won the stage. If it didn't work it would have come back to haunt them. But it did work for them.

Great job by Henao. So happy for him

Thanks for Contador for great racing. Probably the cancellation of that mountain stage worked in favor of great racing.

Obviously, but we're also free to whine about it. . Negative racing won again today. I don't like it when that happens

negative racing = contador not winning? if a sky rider was caught in a similar way no one would have even remembered about 'negative racing'. the enemy won that's the reason.

How do you definte negative racing? Thomas came out on top, but surely you didn't expect him to go on the offense yesterday, right?

I think the big winners yesterday were the spectators.

Buy big team, control everything, chase everything down because you have better teammates. No action, you know what I mean

I don't know what was more fun. Thomas beating Bertie to win Paris-Nice or reading back through the last 30 pages of this thread. Keep it up guys! :D
Surely the stage should have been most fun but I can imagine that wasn't the case for a mindless Contador hater like you. Not even a word of praise, keep it up

Thomas interview: "to beat Contador, one of the best stage races ever... it's unbelievable, the biggest win of my career for sure"
Yeah sure, go on and rub some salt in the wound. He should be thanking his lucky stars that stage 3 got cancelled.

Thomas is great in bad weather and has beaten Contador on 2 summit finishes this season. What makes you assume that Contador would have beaten him on that finish (Thomas was already great on that same climb in 2014 Paris-Nice btw)?

It's almost as if Saturday's stage didn't happen. Thomas responded to two Contador attacks and then counter attacked and dropped him with 300m to go. And of course he comfortably beat him in the prologue too. I'd say he absolutely deserves his Paris-Nice win!

I must say Geraint has fulfilled his duty wonderfully. First Algarve and now Paris-Nice. It must really hurt Contador's pride to be beaten twice in a row by Froome's domestique.

His name is Geraint Thomas, an all-rounder perfectly suited to both parcours.

i'm wondering how you define yourself in relation to sky if jranton turns out to be a mindless hater? why the hell you demand respect for contador from everyone and at the same time badmouth sky for years? where is logic?
