Yes you're correct, thank you, I've added a note with the correction. I must stress again that I'm just an aggregator of information, and the fine previews are all written by CyclingQuotes.com.Le breton said:Praying Mantis said:Unlike the Giro and Vuelta which often have circuits in the finale, the Tour de France usually have point-to-point stages so the first test in the Alps
Thank you very much Praying Mantis for your detailed and enjoyable stage présentations.
Just one little thing : Grand Colombier is not in the Alps. That mountain is the southern tip of the Jura mountains.
About 10 years ago, I climbed it from all 4 sides, starting early in the morning.
I was doing it just to test myself but some people give it more respect than just that.

Just after cresting it for the 1st time I saw a lynx running away. Lynx have been reintroduced in the Jura about 30 years ago I think, they will be hiding today.
Today, with the bright sun and low humidity, the 360° view from the top will be spectacular.

Not that I expect him to attack today, but to be fair he has actually been pretty agressive this year.PremierAndrew said:spalco said:It looks very much like a breakaway day of course, but I actually think there's a good chance for GC action. lol
Let's hope they all work together to trouble Froome rather than fighting for second place between themselves. I fear though that Quintana is the only one with ambitions of actually winning the race, and he is probably too far behind now and too far away from his top form to do anything.spalco said:It looks very much like a breakaway day of course, but I actually think there's a good chance for GC action. Its a flat stage tomorrow, so I think they can go full gas.Sasquatch said:lenric said:With tomorrow being a rest day, going full *** today wouldn't be dumb.

I hope so. Wouldn't be a Grand Tour without a sook from LRP.
Awh, thank you. Really I'm just courting the forumites so that I can bite their heads off later. It's in my nature.ILovecycling said:Thank you very much, you are the latest great edition to this forum (by big margin)Praying Mantis said:Updated OP with some zoomed in graphics of the climbs and the circuit.![]()
