Did the Etixx boys just get bored? There isn't really any obvious reason why they would take it in turns to attack at that point.

Quintana lost an opportunity here. When Froome feels good, he never just sits in the pack, he always takes advantage.

I feel "promising" implies youthful potential. I don't think of Porte as "promising", for instance.

If someone goes kamikaze it was always Bardet and / or Aru tomorrow with the descend into Luchon.

A very fun stage... if you ignore the existence of the peloton and just watch the break. Great rides by Cummings, GVA, Impey. Awful from NIbali.

Most entertaining thing that happened in the GC group is the flamme rouge falling on them.
