For those who have not followed the Moderators forum, the reason I have taken offence is that when it was suggested that another thread be moved to the Games and Fantasy sub-forum from the Professional Road Race section, an administrator replied thus:
Red Rick said:
We've discussed race design thread, and decided to leave it be. We think it adds a lot to the forum, and posters put in a lot of effort in their races and write ups, so we think it's better in PRR, rather than in G&FC where it might be kinda forgotten about

That seems to me to suggest that Red Rick is either hopelessly unaware of the amount of time and effort put into running games, or that he thinks that the effort in the Race Design thread (which refers to neither real life road races nor professional cyclists) is such that it merits positioning in a high traffic area, whereas the time and effort spent here does not. It also implies that he does not consider anything here to "add a lot to the forum", but rather that what is here may "be kinda forgotten about".

This administrator has neither explained, not apologised for, these comments.

Maybe you think I am being unreasonable or over sensitive, but that is why I feel that I, and others who have put so much effort into the diversions here, have been grossly insulted.

Whoa, after all these consistent games with nearly daily updates, almost singlehandedly by you the last few years. I've found my way to VR and will continue to follow there, I for one am very grateful for all the work you put into this to ensure a cool game for dozens of us.

Well the admin who wrote so thoughtlessly has not had the decency to respond despite repeated invitation, and I have far less respect for the admins here than I had before (2 of them specifically, but the whole set up for its lack of rigour and accountability), but I guess I should not make it hard for those who have taken an interest in the game to see how they are doing on account of the irresponsibility and thoughtlessness of one person.

Pantano's performance is the key to LightBing dislodging Minessa from the top spot occupied since stage 8, and not having Van Garderen is what raised Shalgo to the podium, as well as giving Yellow Knight the only 2 place rise within the top ten. Only one change in the top ten, but it is the most important one: Minessa moves back ahead due to Meintjes overtaking Dan Martin. Vladimir and Ratta Kuningas have the biggest junmps, but only 3 places.

Standings

My error in only including the top three teams in the squad analysis on Tuesday's rest day is spotlighted with Shalgo, 4th then and 153 points behind, now being tied for the lead. Of the 2 Bardet teams, Martin gets the biggest jump of the day (6 places) and Laarsland, but rising 3 places to 11th, he provides some interruption to the constant string of Froome teams at the top. 18Valve matches Laarsland's 3 place rise.

So with 2 stages left, it looks like it comes down to who will score better out of
ZUBELDIA AGIRRE Haimar
VAN GARDEREN Tejay
SOUPE Geoffrey for Minessa

or
ROLLAND Pierre
EDET Nicolas
TIRALONGO Paolo for Shalgo

(Froome, Kittel, Meintjes, Durasek and Huzarski being common to both teams)

Which probably boils down to who will fall fewest places out of Rolland and Van Garderen tomorrow.

Pantano has been a surprise asset in the points competition, and puts LightBing on top.
To overhaul him, unless sprinters fail to feature at all, only Hakkie has a chance, and that would need Degenkolb, Enger Holst, Matthews, Stuyven, Eisel and Cimolai to secure, between them, the first three spots and at least 6th as well.

During the stage I was calculating the likelihood of Caruso remaining near enough to Porte to overhaul Zubeldia, and whether this would split yesterday's joint leaders, all the while forgetting that the team in third had the man in second (well, first, then second, then third, then second, then first, then second), enabling LightBing to overtake both yesterday's joint leaders.

The top three all have Kittel, but no other sprinters likely to be big scorers tomorrow (Minessa might hold out some hope for Geoffrey Soupe, but I doubt anyone else does), and if Kittel does nothing, there might be a tiny possibility that Roosen, Bonnet and Wagner might sprint like they never have before for Blues in the Bottle, but the most likely way tomorrow's action might effect the upper echelons is if there are splits in the bunch that no-one considers important enough to close, and positions in the 20s and 30s are lost by taking a casual final lap.

Hakkie regained two places today, but if one rider gets 13 days worth of yellow jersey bonuses, then a team full of sprinters is not a guarantee of winning this category.

The only change positional today is Andy moving up 6 spots, and 6 moving down one to accommodate that.

Which means our winner is LightBing, whose win over other teams that paired Froome and Kittel was cemented by everyone's new favourit Colombian, Jarlinson Pantano.

Well done to LightBing, hard luck to Minessa and Shalgo who ran close, and thanks to everyone for taking part.

I'll do some breakdown on the numbers tomorrow.

Congrats to Lightbing for his victory in the Green Jersey competition. The result in Montpellier blew it for me, unfortunately.

This would have been the perfect team for the Tour; 2400 points for a price of exactly 4000:

Froome
Cavendish
Pantano
Meintjes
Laporte
De Gendt
Clement
Durasek
Eisel/Wagner

Remarkable, in the Giro the ideal team consisted of 8 riders finsihing top-12 in GC + Foliforov. Here, only 2 GC-riders made it.

And this would have been the 'Most Popular Winning Team', the most popular selection of riders that would have beaten Lightbing:

Froome
Kiteel
Pantano
Meintjes
Ten Dam
Durasek
Soupe
Tiralongo
Huzarski

Together, these riders were selected 125 times. Froome+Kittel+Meintjes+Pantano+5 cheapies, why didn't anyone think of this?

People tend to go with more than just two GC riders (Froome and Meintjes) I suppose? Or maybe it's just me. The budget allows for it, though, and I wasn't convinced that Kittel was a great pick because I was under the impression that echelon stages were likely in the first week. I had Froome and Meintjes, but paired them up with Landa and Rolland, who I mistakenly thought could top-10 and top-5, respectively. Really bad picks in retrospect, Landa in particular.

Congrats to Lightbing on winning the GC.

Thanks guys and thank you to Armchair Cyclist for organizing the game. I always wanted to win one of these competitions. Is this the first time we had an official Green Competition?

I actually thought of that team. Didn't follow through because I was really high on Tejay and thought Costa would be the GC leader at Lampre.
