Well, the gap to 3rd is only 13 seconds and there have been splits in the peloton in the final stage in the past...

Maybe Contador should try something, even if it has <1% chance of working?

Contador with a Vino attack to take the win and five seconds ahead of peloton to snatch the podium from Chaves... Or nah. He's not gonna do anything.

Contador won't attack. He'll embarass himself trying to lead out Bennati for our own amusement

Expecting Valverde sprinting to chase green jersey. Would be hilarious if he would won in Madrid. It would nicely sum up ridiculously weak sprint field this Vuelta.

He'll still finish ST on the stage anyway so why not provide a little more entertainment?

Valverde has absolutely no chance to win a bunch sprint even if the field is subpar.
Cort, Drucker, Arndt, Meersman, Sbaragli are the fastest guys in a relatively flat sprint. Hopefully Felline can sneak in a surprise, but he must be tired after yesterday

A fresh Valverde might pull it off. This burned out Valverde? No chance.

Many thanks for your work putting these threads up, Flam. We appreciate it.
I agree. Great setups for the stage each day.

And so many of the other posters here are like another batch of savvy commentators. Good stuff to have running parallel to the live coverage. Thanks, people!

Slightly disappointed that I'm the only one who seems to be interested in the various hilltowns, monasteries, and bridges....

So your interest in bridges is sincere? I thought it was just some sort of joke to make the boring stages fo faster

Yes! I love the visual tourism aspect of bike racing. Its a real part of these events. Maybe a tiny bit of joke too.
