Maggie!

Maybe I do need to rethink my no support of countrymen thingy I got going. He has been incredibly strong in the last week, not only sprinting, but doing practically everything.

Cort proving he is a big talent with two stages in the final week of his first GT. The sprinting field here is quite weak, but he was clearly the strongest and he has been strong the other days going in the breakaway on mountain stages as well. This guy is fast, but more than just a sprinter. It will be interesting to follow him in the coming seasons!

Nice that an Orica rider won, they deserve every bit of success this Vuelta for how they've raced.

Quintana with a bit of a dig at some other riders who are monaing all the time. Saying how he had some quite bad chest pains after his crash, but he had to keep it quiet to not alert his rivals.

It was a very good interview actually, nice to hear Nairo speaking so well. And yes, he just keeps it to himself, no excuses.

Yeah he speaks well. Credit riding through the pain as well - that must have been affecting him on Pena Cabarga and on the Basque stages given that his crash was on Lagos i think.

That was a smooth and compact podium ceremony. Of course the enthusiastic fans helped a lot, also good they also applauded Froome.

Fully agree, two wins are great but he has also been a key component in both the St 14 & St 20 tactical moves executed by the team. He was also in the major break in this year's P-R so he's clearly a major one day classics talent but his overall showing at this tour indicates he's also a commodity that you can take along to GTs not just to bring results but as a full contributor.

OBE clearly stole a march on the competition signing him up on a 3 year deal. Its highly likely he's going to be the subject of "market interest" at the end of next season but given OBE's current team ethos and knack of bringing on young talent he may well stick around for another couple of years if the OBE $$$ are anywhere near competitive.

Think OBE have found a rider in Cort - A second year rider riding his first GT who was so strong in the last week, and is a decent sprinter who can get quicker - A good sprinting option for the Giro and the Vuelta - And he is being groomed as a classics rider.

Getting even firmer in my view that OBE will do far better to prioritise retaining Cort at the end of next year ...... and be prepared to let Ewan go elsewhere where bunch sprints will be the prime focus with regards to results.

Granted, I dislike Ewan and his juvenile showboating but that doesn't really enter the equation; IF his skills set and likely progression were a better fit for the future direction of the team then I'd come down in his favour ...... but they aren't.

Wait and see with Ewan - He's being groomed as a sort of classics rider and is showing some aptitide for this role - I'll be interested in how Ewan rides in the Eneco Tour next week - It's a hot field.
