Hate to be Pollyannish, but - assuming he's OK to carry on - this might not be too disastrous for MAL, from a racing point of view (although I feel bad for him, in terms of the pain). Takes the pressure off him in his first GT, lets him go for stage wins, gives him experience in riding 3 weeks.

A Caja rider was on the front just now - any news on who?

That was José Gonçalves.

I thought it would be him or Carthy. Excellent performance.
