Same last 2 climbs as in 2015. Muro di Sormano. I'm a fan
Great. The steep side of Civigligo. Much better than the eastern approach. Should be a good race. The last couple of versions to Bergamo have also been pretty good races, but the route to Como is still better if they use Ghisallo-Sormano-steep side of Civiglio. Just happy as long as they don't use the crappy route to Lecco like they did in 11-13.

Same route as in 2015 with the notable exception of Muro di Sormano instead of the standard route to the top of Colma.
This is absolutely for the climbers, I would love to see Contador ride it.
?Sormano was in in 2015 as well.
As a matter of fact, this profile is exactly the same as the 2015 one. besides being 2 km longer.

I'm sure it was in, in fact completely destroyed the peloton.

This is a real Giro di Lombardia. The route is perfect

This.

Pinot FTW.
He can't even descend
Kwia is the favourite

You do realize that Pinot finished 3rd on exactly same route? And Ghisallo/Sormano combo is not Bordako Tontorra, it's for the real climbers. Kwiatkowski will need the best climbing legs of his life to win this edition. For me he isn't the top favorite.

I don't agree at all. Kwia's climbing is definitely good enough for the course.
He's my favorite.

I'm not sure, this is a very hard course, last time only climbers were left at the end.

It depends how the race is ridden.

In 2015, Astana destroyed the field, at the top of the Muro di Sormano, only Nibali, Rosa, Chaves, Pinot, Valverde and Moreno was left. Even if some riders came back in the descent, the strongest were in front.

Civiglio is no joke too, 4km at 10%.

Hope a team will go full gas from Sormano, 2015 edition was so much fun.

Kwiatkowski in top form is surely potential contender. Especially with his descending abilities which could make up for time loses on the climbs. I wish he'd won another monument but I wouldn't call him clear favorite though.

What state is Danny boy in after his injury from the tour?

"3 weeks off the bike" was the supposed timeline when the 2 fractured vertebrae were diagnosed. That would have had him ready for the Vuelta, but obviously he didn't start there, or the Tour of Britain. Would QS bring him since he's changing teams next year? Or put all their resources behind Alaphilippe and PhilGil? Too many chiefs could be a problem.

Ummm, this is kinda embarrassing, but I just found out Dan is actually currently riding the ToB. So he'll presumably be ok for Lombardy and the Worlds.

Thanks for the info. I too just noticed that he is riding in the ToB. I wonder why I missed that, it has such a great parcours ;)

Depends whether he is climbing like he was in the Tour, or if he's climbing like he has every single other race since 2013. I have no doubt it's the former
