yetiyeti said:If Chaves hadn't been away in the break on Etna then the peloton may not have even caught that very good breakaway group - they would not have had the same motivation - and there may not have been any bonus seconds or the same time gains for Yates over other GC rivals. The Michelton Scott team benefited from Chaves' efforts on that day, including Simon Yates. Which is awesome, since they are, you know, a team.

Yes, the break may have made it had Chaves not been part of it - which would have been a preferable situation for Yates as he would not have had to soft pedal on Etna and would have SMASHED all the favourites for 1-2 minutes because he would've attacked earlier.

LOL. Only 2 minutes, are you assuming he stops for coffee? No worries, though, if he can do that then he'll smash them by 8 minutes by attacking on the base of the Zoncolan. The Chicken said:yetiyeti said:If Chaves hadn't been away in the break on Etna then the peloton may not have even caught that very good breakaway group - they would not have had the same motivation - and there may not have been any bonus seconds or the same time gains for Yates over other GC rivals. Of course he would. Yates clearly is much, much stronger than peak Contador in 2011.

As if. Did you watch the stage? No way Yates was ever gonna take 1-2 minutes. Chavez set him up perfectly. That was close to the maxium time he would take on that stage.

I was being sarcastic, hence the rolling eyes smiley.
Because they worked their asses of and weren't strong enough? While Bennett has done *** all all day?Zinoviev Letter said:Bennett should be seriously annoyed with his team after being the only sprinter to make the lead group.
