Huge day for Movistar. They are now gonna be extremely dangerous for Roglic.

Lopez really cracked in the last few Ks. He was just behind Nibali and Roglic and lost almost 1:30.

Wise ride by the shark. Tomorrow's another day, some will pay. Now Robotlic has to pay attention to Movistar and Bora and he also worked today.

Chasing on his own while Nibali and Roglic were just going steadily. Then they started upping the pace when he was close

Chapeau Zakarin! Landa is finally back in form and this was his territory. This was a good day but just liked I suspected Roglic and Nibali wanted to play merely safe because tomorrow is another massive stage.

Yates is done. I did not expect him to crack this big. Three guys stood out for me: Zakarin / Carapaz / Landa. In that order. Great ride!

Rog/Nib at 2:56.
They both tried 2/3 times each, but they're pretty level at the moment.

Yep. Good for Rog, not for Nibs.
Is it good for Roglic though? We kept saying he only has to care about Nibali but Mollema, Zakarin and more importantly Landa (together with his teammate Carapaz) are way too dangerous now to keep ignoring them. He will have to start defending against more than just one rider and with his team that could be very hard.
On the other hand, Yates and Lopez seem to be out of the equation for good.

Yep. Likely went into the red trying to get back on and then it was much steeper at the end.

Excellent stage.
Many twists during the day. So eventful.
Plenty to come as well.
