Yes, he realized that he didn't have the legs when Ackermann started his sprint.Laplaz said:Gaviria didn't had it

He did not fade, as he sprinted Gaviria and Démare off his wheel. Ackermann was just a level beyond.movingtarget said:Ewan faded. Impressive win by Ackermann. Viviani arriving in typical fashion, needed a bit more road. Not sure if the rider from Movistar continued, looked like he might have been concussed. Ugly looking fall.
Agreed. I always thought this is going to be a sprint. Now 2 sprints + 1 uphill sprint before stage 6.Gigs_98 said:These kind of stages always disappoint. Remember stage 2 in 2017? I was genuinely surprised so many people thought there was a chance this would not end in a bunch sprint. Just don't forget the next stage that is actually harder than this comes on stage 6...ugh
With me having the defence of my Masters thesis in 9 days I'm actually not too upset about that, more time to learn.Gigs_98 said:These kind of stages always disappoint. Remember stage 2 in 2017? Nothing on Jumbo's Twitter yet, but I noticed that half the team was suddenly gone. Kuss and van Emden 9 minutes down and De Plus and Leezer at 12 minutes. So surely something must have happened!?HelloDolly said:

I guess van Emden and Leezer did a bit of work early on?! And de Plus and Kuss are saved for the final week, so no surprise to see them taking it easyvladimir said:Nothing on Jumbo's Twitter yet, but I noticed that half the team was suddenly gone.
