Edit - see the Breakaway King De Gendt is already more then 13 minutes down, so he's saving himself for something.
The Breakaway King has been transformed into a working horse for Caleb Ewan.

With the way the GC is, the big chance of Ewan sprinting for the stage plus it not being very lumpy, I would not expect De Gendt to give it a go.

Forecast for Frascati today
Showers early, then cloudy in the afternoon. High 17C. Winds NNE at 15 to 25 km/h. Chance of rain 40%.

Which means a tailwind for the stage apart from the last 20 km or so when they turn west towards the finish at Frascati when it's a crosswind from the right.

So weird not one of you have mentioned Arnaud Demare, it's his ideal kind of finish. He has won a very similar race at Paris-Nice last year in Meudon, maybe even a bit harder.

It was a hilly and bad weather..

Do people think Roglic wants to keep the jersey for the full 3 weeks?

I don't think Jumbo would mind lending it but with the sprinter teams a breakaway is just not happening anytime soon.

For now it looks good for publicity and sending a clear message to the rest of the pack that they are a team that can controle a race. But keeping it is never the goal, they want it in Verona.

Exactly, there are 4 teams who want a sprint finish so Jumbo can just go along for the ride.

This finish in the Vuelta last year had Sagan vs Valverde and nobody close.

I think we'll see GC guys in the top 10 behind guys like Ulissi and Battaglin

Tomorrow almost a guaranteed sprint finish and Thursday and Friday look like rest days for the sprinters (in terms of stage wins) so I can see a few teams wanting to try and make sure the bunch gets to the end together. I think as a one day race this would be too hard for the sprinters, but in a GT I reckon they'll be there at the end. Whether they have the legs to challenge on the finish will be interesting.

Today's Giro stage is 100 km longer and if he repeats this move -

the jury might be busy again. ;)

I've driven and walked up those last 2km a few times. I can't see the sprinters doing much there.

Break:
Marco Frapporti (Androni-Sidermec), Mirco Maestri (Bardiani-CSF), Damiano Cima (Nippo-Fantini-Faizanè)

They have 10 minutes on the bunch

Why is Moschetti mentioned by some as a potential winner today? Isn't he too bad of a climber to be in contention?

2s behind Ewan on Hatta Dam. If Ewan is a contender then Moschetti probably deserves a mention too.

Looks like a nice day for cycling anyway. Was there supposed to be bad weather at the start or towards the finish?
