Did Nibali go down in that crash?
Whoever TBM guy it was, he hit the deck very hard on his shoulder, wouldn't surprise me if that's a collarbone gone.

Edit: Vincenzo 25th in, so that wasn't him as expected.

It's a surprise because everybody was expecting Groenewegen to sprint but Teunissen has been crazy strong this year.

Omg, Theunissen!

Whoever put a tenner on that is going crazy just now :D
I doubt anyone did. Odds of 1000 were available on Betfair Exchange most of the day but wasn't taken

Excellent 9th place for Viviani.

Same problem as the giro, he keeps missing Richezes wheel in the last k.

Alaphilippe, Moerkoev and Richeze rode a perfect lead out, he just let himself get boxed out of position
He's probably gonna blame Richeze for being too strong...
Colbrelli started his sprint waaay too early, just before 270m to go.

Re: 2019 Tour de France, stage 1: Bruxelles > Brussel, 194,5

The great attrition of the TDF begins on stage 1 -- two crashes, lots of pain. Hoping Fuglsang can continue. I do remember a TDF some years ago where Andy Schleck got banged up on an early stage. Cancellara called for the peloton to hold up . . . and they did. Was that the 2010 TDF where Andy was declared winner after Contador's DQ? So, once in a while, a rider is able to recover from a bad crash and still do well.

Cort grinning and saying “at least we got some TTT training in”

I love this guy :D
Meh. If things are bad with Jakob I am not in the mood for Cort's humor. Prayers that it was only superficial wounds

Ewan was unlucky, he had to stop pedaling twice.
I reckon he would have powered to the win had he been able to slip through that gap
It looked that way, he just couldn't get past Colbrelli who was killing himself but going absolutely nowhere.
