The British Kelderman :(

Rode that sprint like he was Mark Cavendish

Wright does remind me a bit of that enthusiastic trainspotter that got popular over the covid period

I don't think Wright would have won the sprint whatever way he played it. Tailwind finish so no big disadvantage being on the front - he just didn't have it. Battistella was the one who really should have won but left himself an impossible task

the others in the break made it as easy as possible for Wright, but he still found a way to not win this.
overall, he was probably the stongest rider in the break, but it's not like he is a sprinter. I don't think it was ever going to be easy, no matter how he approached it.

Still, Herrada winning it was a surprise, of course. Although he also outsprinted Aranburu after a hard day in the Spanish Nats

Yeah he waited a bit too long. Once he was boxed in and had to swerve around to the left side it was too much effort to give.

Wright probably was too pushy. Battistella was too laidback. That's why Jesus won it.

Congratulations to Jesús Herrada López for winning the stage.

Sprinters took control today and from this perspective it was a dramatic stage. Scenery was nice too. Just like the dam the GC tension is building up and things are getting more and more electric.
