By chasing down Janssens initial acceleration Fred Wright left himself on the front in the worst possible place. Otherwise he probably wins that comfortably.

Nicely done by the break. Herrada showed his experience with a well taken win. Better stage than I expected and the stunning scenery didn't hurt either............

I don't think Wright would have won the sprint whatever way he played it. Tailwind finish so no big disadvantage being on the front - he just didn't have it. Battistella was the one who really should have won but left himself an impossible task

Again Masnada moved up in the GC. From 68th to 64th overall, continuing his climb towards the top 10

overall, he was probably the stongest rider in the break, but it's not like he is a sprinter. I don't think it was ever going to be easy, no matter how he approached it.

Still, Herrada winning it was a surprise, of course. Although he also outsprinted Aranburu after a hard day in the Spanish Nats

Yeah he waited a bit too long. Once he was boxed in and had to swerve around to the left side it was too much effort to give.

Wright probably was too pushy. Battistella was too laidback. That's why Jesus won it.

Congratulations to Jesús Herrada López for winning the stage.

Sprinters took control today and from this perspective it was a dramatic stage. Scenery was nice too. Just like the dam the GC tension is building up and things are getting more and more electric.
