Yep very poor tactics.By chasing down Janssens initial acceleration Fred Wright left himself on the front in the worst possible place. Otherwise he probably wins that comfortably.
overall, he was probably the stongest rider in the break, but it's not like he is a sprinter. I don't think it was ever going to be easy, no matter how he approached it.the others in the break made it as easy as possible for Wright, but he still found a way to not win this.
Yeah he waited a bit too long. Once he was boxed in and had to swerve around to the left side it was too much effort to give.I don't think Wright would have won the sprint whatever way he played it. Tailwind finish so no big disadvantage being on the front - he just didn't have it. Battistella was the one who really should have won but left himself an impossible task
