and how is that a problem ...have you seen this Giro :D
True but that's just this one. Send him to the Tour and he's up against Pogacar (if on a different team) and Vingegaard and he's not coming close. He's a tier 3 guy at best who needs a route with a ton of TT Kms and for the climbs to be more diesel climbs (so Tour suits him better there). In the Giro and Vuelta where climbs tend to be steeper, I'm not sure he's even following your Landa, Mas, Vlasov level guys never mind the top tier.

Any route that favours him, also favours Remco a lot too, or even someone like Foss who I'd have him in the same category as for a GT guy.

I don't think anybody was putting him in the Pogacar/Vingegaard level lol, just a potential top 10/5 if the time is right.

Quite happy to finally see a portuguese in the podium of a GT (I'm not old enough to have seen Agostinho).

Speaks a lot of Almeida quality that it's not even a surprise, perhaps even a bitter taste of victory that is so close but (probably) not going to get it.

Realistically he has some limitations (explosiveness, positioning/descending skills) that are needed for GT winner level. He also has time on his side and a podium, stage win and white jersey is a awesome Giro!
