Good to see that Israel finally realizes oldies and excuse Israelis aren't the way to go for a profesional cycling team. Going to be an exciting team for the breakaway stages, just like the Giro.
Damn, these new people who invented dangerous descents are crazy. Descending the Joux Plane? Is that even possible?View: https://twitter.com/HansenAdam/status/1672006516713607168
This man is on a mission to single handedly kill the entire sport.
In 2016, when Izagirre won and it was being raced in terrible conditions, nobody crashed on Joux Plane, except for Kelderman (of course). Morzine doesn't even finish in a descent.Damn, these new people who invented dangerous descents are crazy. Descending the Joux Plane? Is that even possible?
Stop with the hubris - This would be a standard pre TDF meeting to discuss the 21 stages.View: https://twitter.com/HansenAdam/status/1672006516713607168

Edit: He‘s probably planning to ask them to add 3 km or something.
I agree with JB..they should cancel sprint finish..esp ban KBK..as it is a dangerous raceAnd what would that change anyway? Riders still will try to make a difference on the descent.
I also like what Johann Bruyneel said in one of the last "The Move" Podcasts in that context.:The most dangerous roads in cycling are flat, straight roads.
What an absolute joke! This finish in Morzine has been used many many times, before helmets were composery. Although this is a joke, they could use the finish that they used in 1980's, where they did a loop around town, that would add on a few km's.View: https://twitter.com/HansenAdam/status/1672006516713607168

Lol, ASO will just tell them to suck it up and they'll all accept it because the Tour is too big for the sponsors.Damn, these new people who invented dangerous descents are crazy. Descending the Joux Plane? Is that even possible?

Honest question, how would people have reacted if Jakobsen had died following his Tour de Pologne crash? Would people have asked for banning sprints?
Dunno.Honest question, how would people have reacted if Jakobsen had died following his Tour de Pologne crash? Would people have asked for banning sprints? And also, why the focus on the Joux Plane descent? There are multiple downhill finishes in this years edition. Why is that one considered too dangerous but others aren't?
I mean hey, if they make changes to the route this year because lots of riders have just gone through a very traumatic event then I'm not gonna be outraged. But I still find this reaction a bit weird.
Didnt a lot of talk going around stopping using sprint finishes in slight downhill like the one in Katowice?Honest question, how would people have reacted if Jakobsen had died following his Tour de Pologne crash? Would people have asked for banning sprints?
Tbf his only talent in cycling was being able to ride around a GT and not crash. Makes sense why he'd want the sport to be zero fun as it's the only way a guy like him can actually hang in the peleton. If they take a vote on this it seems logical they’ll go ahead and cancel descent finishes and more, since only a handful of riders stand anything to gain from them. Nothing against voting structures and rider representation, but they’re setting up a situation where the default will be safety whenever something isn’t 100% necessary. Which could also be said of most of the rest of this sport. It really does seem that guys like Hansen are on a mission to destroy the identity of the sport.
The speed the peleton would take to be in good position for the start of the climb would be too dangerous so that final climb has to go.eventually there will be no more multiple mountain stages. just flat road with a summit finish.
Who was the last rider to die on the flats? Serious question. And what would that change anyway? Riders still will try to make a difference on the descent.

Bjorg Lambrecht? Or was that slightly downhill?Who was the last rider to die on the flats? Serious question.
Lambrecht, why?Who was the last rider to die on the flats? Serious question.
