Lefrancois and the French team tried to start a protest against the tough conditions but Pastapizza jumped off the road and broke clear. With the Italians now also blocking, he soon gained 9 minutes, but Greg Horner caught back up to the Peloton with the help of his penguins and made his way to the front. However, as soon as Horner attacked, the Soviets began chasing furiously and by 80 k to go, one of the mysterious Soviet men attacked and quickly bridged to Pastapizza. Then my tape also stopped working, just as Züllemann tried one of his attacks that looked like he was escaping from his own bicycle.
great, qs!

It looks like Poland were very unlucky with the team numbers calculation. They fell outside the top 30 world rankings for just one week this year. It just happened to be week 24 which was two days before the qualification date of 20 June. And because of that, they have a one-man team instead of a four-man team.

That is crazy stupid sh*t. So frustrating the IOC (or whomever) does that to road cycling. It’s not like swimming or T&F, where more athletes qualifying for an event necessitates more preliminary heats. For the road event, they don’t have to add extra races or more road if they allow more riders to participate (up to a full sized pro peloton). Such a bias against road cycling :(

Ed. Move right along, nothing to see here

You know that post is about the road world championships, right? They aren‘t influenced by the IOC and the road race has almost 200 participants at the worlds.
