OK, let's try this again, but a little differently from last time.
What you need to know is shown normally, there are some explainers behind the spoiler fog.
The game, both for budget and scoring, is based on PCS (in the absence of CQ covering cyclocross)
Your team is to consist of 18 riders, with whatever combination of men and women you prefer.
The closing date for the game is 12th October, 16:15 CET (This is chosen as the date of the first race in the Exact cross series: It's only a C2, but that seems to be the race that might see the first appearance of most of the bigger names. Besides, we've got to start somewhere)I have put the closing time back a bit, the Exact Cross doesn't start till relatively late.
Only points scored at elite level will be counted If you have U23 riders, be aware that for men it might be that many of their races will not yield game points, for female riders they may be in championship and occasional other events that don't count
Scoring is since 1st July 2024, will finish on 23rd February 2025 The final race currently shown on PCS, and, I believe, the normal last event of the season in the Sluitingsprijs. The original draft of the rules only included points after entries had closed, but I have been persuaded to allow early season points to be included.
Your budget is 25000 points Last year we were allowed 6 of the top 6 men+ top 6 women, similarly for those ranked 7-12, and 6 others. I used median values (13th to 24th for the third category), and got a score of c28,800, but in the interests of round numbers and making it a bit more competitive, lowered it somewhat, while still allowing selection of several high scorers, as name recognition drops of quickly, for me at least, outside the top 30 or so.
Rider prices are the PCS points for elite level scored in 2023/24: Men's and Women's tables under the bold type, BUT for men who competed in U23 races last year, these values may be overstated. If he was in the top 100, I have calculated his cost without U23 points in the selection spreadsheet: otherwise there is a tool on the second tab in that spreadsheet to help you For women, the U23 scores are already removed from the totals. No, I don't know why they are so inconsistent either
One slight error in those tables, unlikely to affect most selections : because Baroni in 19th is posted twice, the rider in 100th in the women's rankings is not shown. It is Nicole Pesse, 178 pts
I am also aware of one rider, there may be others, that have not appeared in those lists. The best I can suggest is that if a rider is in your mind and you can't see them in the list, go directly to their rider page.
There is be a Selection Spreadsheet tool on Google Docs, which has the top 100 men and women and their prices in it, you can of course shoose riders who are lower in last years rankings For reasons explained above, it was quite laborious to get scores for U23 men, that's why I have not included all the several hundred riders with
We only had 7 players last year: hoping for a much better turnout this time. If anything is unclear, ask away.
Good luck and enjoy.
