Well, that G helper had better odds at the sprint than Teddy. Now how he could hang onto him on the climb is very impressive and surprising.

Today is a bittersweat stage for Ineos. They win the stage but lose Aresman for the GC. So it is all about Thomas.

That was an unexpectedly strong perfromance by Narvaez, hats off. How is he in the big mountains, can he go for the GC?
Same for Schachmann, great to see him back in good form.

I've just checked my bingo card and surprisingly I did not have Schachmann beating Teddy in a sprint. Chapeau Narvaez though - hung on for grim death and won the sprint. Is he (Narvaez) a contender? We'll find out on stage 2 I think

This stage, with basically a single 3'30 climb at the end of a 140 km stage, is where Roglic is simply unironically better than Pogacar.

Perhaps he is, but let's not forget Roglic got caught by Thomas and TGH on a very similar Giro stage last year too. Not sure that performance was actually much better than Pogis today.
