Grosschartner just didn't have it, the plan was obviously to have two over this climb. Point is why bring 3 riders who like Molano, Oliveira and Laengen? 2 of them at most should be sufficent with Bjerg and Novak
I'd have kept two of Grossschartner, Bjerg and Novak behind Majka in the train. And then adjust the tempo on the climb so one of them survives, they can talk to each other.

Yes, but thats not point. It should really not be hard to understand it? Molano specifically has no business being here
Why not. He can just be a flat domestique and do his own thing at the end of sprint stages. Not every rider needs to be there with 50 guys in the peloton left.

It's just that some important designated Giro domestiques missed the Giro in Vine and McNulty and UAE have decided not to cannibalize their Tour squad.

Cause you dont really need 3 guys who only can do the flats when your thin on climbers?

I think it matters with an eye to July. If Thomas and co start trying to exploit the team weakness then it won't impact Pogacar's ability to win but it might mean that he just has to expend unnecessary energy in this Giro.
If Arensman can't be a GC threat, that does limit Thomas. With the two TT, Pogacar will likely have a ton of time and all he'd need to is sit on whoever is closest.
