Wellens didn't even have any team support today, only one with him was his dad. Must be pretty frustrating for the Belgian teams turning up with all their staff.

Now this is concerning—does it mean he can’t do the aero hair tufts?
That's a surprise that Dunbar could beat Mullen in the ITT. It suggests his form is OK after his many mishaps in 2024. Thinking about this more, Jayco wanted him to ride Suisse to do the TDF, though he felt he was not quite right. Him winning the ITT, suggests his form is good and this another missed opportunity.

I know he's not a top dog. That's why I specifically called this 'a chance of a lifetime' and a 'missed opportunity'. No need to underrate him, but you can't say he's getting overrated either. I have the right to cheer for my fellow townsman.
Ofcourse. But you are disappointed and call it a missed opportunity. Imho, that's not entirely fair. Segaert was still there, and Herregodts his level is not that high that others (like Wellens in this case) can't beat him on a good day. For Segaert it is much more a missed opportunity, imho.
Ye, but I believe Segaert will get more chances along the way.

I got home from work and started my stream just as Norsgaard started, and the commentators haven't mentioned Uttrup with one word, nor have I been able to find any information anywhere... you'd think it would be pretty big news if the 2nd biggest favourite didn't start after all.
So the ride I just did on Ringvejen didn't actually make me Danish junior champion? Stop posting lies then.
Well she didn't finish Tour de Suisse, so maybe focussing just on the road race. ITT might still be too painful to ride considering her injury,even though she did set a reasonable time at the ITT for TdS, it might be the recovery the next day which is the issue

That was my best guess too.
Don't think it's because she didn't finish Suisse; surely then she would have cancelled her participation earlier, and not after the start times had already been published.
I was just thinking the ITT was stage 2, she was her normal chatty self at the start of stage 3, but then didn't finish, there wasn't a crash, and FDJ haven't provided an update since.
And maybe it's like ok you can ride ITT but it really going to hurt and impact your road race ability so you pick one even if you're down to do both. As obviously it's also an Olympic selection thing too.
Plus I don't know if the Danish fed are similar to British Cycling but several riders had start times, but almost had no intention of taking part, due to injury or form.
Do you remember if she did the Suisse ITT on a regular bike? That route was a bit more hilly that the one in Herning. Coz Herning = no hills.
