The doubt today was if Ayuso or Hindley could follow Vingegaard. But once they couldnt the difference is not a big surprise. The danish is the best today for stage races and the best climber. I wouldnt say the best of the world, but always in this generation arguable.
He bested Ayuso, hindley, and arensman today by a minute. At least the best of that generation.

Del toro the second best climber today?

Matxin is the best scout in the world and has top contacts in the world, as a tactician he is 0 and persistently interferes in the work of DS, the only DS expert in that team at an acceptable level is Fabio Baldato, 2+2 is always 4, if Pogacar is so far was trained by a quasi-trainer who only prescribed endurance rides of 5W/kg and FTP 15 min intervals 2 times a week after zone 2 and the rest of his training was based on prescribing training from training peaks, imagine what can happen when a top-level coach takes over Sola, if one Yates progressed from 32 years old after 1 year of working with him, how much Pogi will progress 🤭, UAE has the best TT setup in the world, Pogačar finally has a coach who trains him with a Core device for heat training and for the first time you could see Pogacar in Strade Bianche to wear Core attached to a heart rate strap, he finally has real training and intervals for hills for the first time in his career and he will have properly conducted altitude training after the Giro, I can't tell you how I know all that, but believe me I have insight firsthand in all that, how else would I show you Pogačar's part from training on 24.2.2024 and that his 349w is 5.33w/kg as a base training and FTP 431w, that he will be 20% better is frankly a little too hasty, but if could predict for the Giro Pogacar will be at 65 kg, at both TTs he will win, at 15 min he will have 7.3 w/kg, at 20 min 7 w/kg, at 30 min hill 6.7 and at 40+ min hill he will have 6.5 w/ kg and on the Tour kg less and the strength is the same, so if Vingegard gets that from me, he has 👏👏👏👏

Good stuff. Please put these insights into the rider thread instead of race threads. Easier to discuss. Less disruptive when pogi is not in that race

Naichaca always overestimate 0.1/0.2 w/kg.
Probably 6.4/6.5 during 26 minutes. Not bad in March.
Pacing according to (and deduced from) the article:

14'27" at 6.39 eW/kg for Vingegaard while Valter and Tulett pulled.
11'38" at 7.04 eW/kg for Vingegaard since he attacked.

So if Hindley did the same 6.39 eW/kg for the first 14'27", he's at 6.2 eW/kg for the last 12'38".

If the paced first part was split in Valter's section and Tulett's section, I guess the former would be at Hindley's pace while Tulett would go near Vingegaard's pace.

Even if you don't buy the numbers, I think it's a fine measure of pacing.

So there were fireworks indeed! Vingo didn't want to wait till tomorrow and showed the rest who's the f**king boss! After his attack on the steepest section Hindley and Connor were holding on 10-15 seconds back for a while but they probably went too fast, faded a bit and were caught by other top guys. Then the gap started increasing quickly to almost 1 minute on the top. Vingo hold it pretty well on the descent and added more in the final section. Great performance. I definitely warmed up to Skeletor since 2022. He's not a July monster anymore and shows excellence from the season start. The downside is that he probably won't go thermonuclear from the bottom of Petrano showing us some ridiculous VAM. The race is almost over.

Maybe he is right this time, but i trust more in ammattipyoraily numbers.

According to Ferrari formula about 6.45 w/kg, maybe 6.5 w/kg since Vingo is lighter than standarized 65 kg cyclist.
Naichaca does the calculations in 60 kg standard.
Ammattipyoraily does the calculations in 65 kg standard, it's another difference.

Probably is 6.45/6.5 like you said. Very good numbers em March.

I think he can do a bit better tomorrow if he goes full gas, because the climb is more steep and doesn't have small sections of descent like the climb of today.

He has no reason to go full gas tomorrow TBH. So not sure about crazy VAM on Petrano.
