There needs to be an official 24 hour World solo championships - As in it must be for a rainbow jersey. Not just a race that calls itself "the World Championships".
At the moment there are two "world" Championships. One in Europe which is held in Germany and raced by a few of the Euro regulars and the other in Canada/USA which is raced by a few Americans and a couple of Aussies.
Both races don't pit the best 24hr riders together, if there was an official Worlds it would bring everyone together for a showdown and i'd say a few big names from marathon step up and have a go...

+1

Didn't even know there was a Euro Worlds24, I thought the whole 24-hour insanity was restricted to the English speaking countries.

Also why the **** are there teams at the US/Canandian/Aussie worlds, format should be solo-only when there's a jersey at stake.

CORC have put up info for the 2010 24Hr Worlds (Aussie/US/Canada edition). http://www.corc.asn.au/news/docs/wsc2010%20006%20faqs.pdf

There's a list of people who have "grandfather" qualifications by racing previous events, plus which upcoming Australian races will act as qualifiers.

I'm so glad they've done the pre-qualifying thing, saves me having to get fit until October. Don't know about how to qualify from anywhere but Australia though.
