He had a bad crash early in stage 20 of the 2010 Giro, and was thrown out of the race by commissaires for hanging on to cars to get back to the group.

I don't think it's related to the one in the same stage that caused Garzelli and Tondó to DNF, but it might be.

As I felt progressively better I began to train more, only to have an accident on my TT bike which had me in hospital for the day- luckilly only leaving with a chin full of stitches

The camp didn’t start off too well for me after puncturing my front wheel at high speed around a bend, on our way down the mountain one morning. I was grateful not to have been injured more seriously but I still left a long trail of skin on the tarmac resulting in a bit of road rash. Never much fun to have at the best of times!

No mention of Turbo for Stage 1?? Matt White has been pretty close to the money with his predictions re. GE aims and goals so far this season. From the GE website he says;

“The prologue and the stage four time trial are very important for Luke Durbridge, who has had targeted these two event during the last few weeks of training,” noted White
