What a year for l'Armée de Terre. They fully deserve Pro Continental status.

This - Having an excellent year for a CT team - Do they have the money or desire or finances for PCT ?
That was their aim, it's still is so I guess it's 90% done.

What is their current relationship with the French army? I understand that they used to be an army representative team.

So their riders are sport soldiers officially!?

Carapaz looking real good for GC suddenly.

The queen stage is really tough, but there were a few really decent climbers in the break, so the winner will come from there.

The terrotorial army team continue an already impressive sequence of results, especially since different riders are getting the wins.

So Gaudin and Loubet are actual soldiers now?

Ill eagerly follow the mountain stage in this race, good chances of telling us what kind of a Tour we can expect. Hopefully Poels doesnt feel aight before August. ;)
If Froome is not the strongest climber at the Tour which is likely, Poels can make for extremely good viewing.
Don't discount my man Wout!☺️

For the second year in a row it's a pretty easy route compared with previous editions.

some comments... That 3rd stage alone is probably close to a top15 of all mountain stages you will find in Europe this year in terms of difficulty, and as shown yesterday the 1st stage was demanding too.

You have to understand that organisers need to balance their routes. if la Route du Sud does a stage of 200ks with 6 000 D+, sprinters and rouleurs won't even bother showin up for the race because they know they won't survive that stage. And if you do only mountain stages, same. Here the balance they have struck is really solid : one tricky hilly stage to begin with and then one big mountain stage and two flattish stages with some bumps. It's, reduced over 4 days, the overall balance you would find in a classic GT.

Really on the contrary it's a very good route, with a real mountain stage, instead of what we often see nowadays : mostly flat stages finishing with a one off sharp climb, over and over again.

Anyone know why Aru isn't here after all?
I thought he was down to race this. He's still very short on race miles this season.
According to his Instagram he's doing an altitude camp at Sestrieres instead. Maybe because he's been stronger than originally expected at the Dauphine already?

He probably was set to ride Giro + Route + Tour. But since he did Dauphine first then there is no way that they would send him to do those three races in line. That would be suicide if you ask me.

Ok thanks. Was worried for a moment that he'd got sick or injured again.
