It is a monster a cycling 'Bolt' and it's coming ....

Mercredi 25 Août 2010 | Daniel Teklehaymanot believes in the Future.
dant.jpg

Daniel Teklehaymanot is in full preparation for the Tour de l'Avenir. "Because of this, I am a little tired right now," said the Eritrean at the UCI Global Centre for cycling where he is stationed.
Last year, he finished sixth overall and 6th in the stage with a mountaintop finish at Gerardmer.
"This year, I have great hopes for a podium place for the Tour de l'Avenir" said Daniel [www.cyclismag.com].
As a preparation, he will race the 'classique de Châteauroux' in the jersey from Cervélo.
Team Cervélo took Daniel as an intern after the contacts made by Thèze Michel, manager of the CMC staff.
"I'll be running a race in Italy with Cervélo, after the Tour de l'Avenir." Says Teklehaymanot.

Starts in Vierzon... Nice.... If only they could also pass by Vesoul and Honfleur my life would be totally complete

Jacques Brel would totally be my man crush if he were still alive :(

Also, those are some pretty tough climbs for a U23 race... Do they usually have that difficult a parcours?

"Amsterdam" is the greatest song ever written. When both Scott Walker and David Bowie can do your song, and never come even close to doing it justice, you know you have an amazing song on your hands.

Now why can't we use stages 8 and 11 for the Tour de France?

The latter one, to Risoul, was the same finish as the one in the Dauphiné when Vogondy won ahead of Sicard and Brajkovic. In the top levels it is one of those climbs that narrows it down to an elite group but doesn't really open up huge time gaps, but in an u23 race I expect it will tear things apart.

The GB team racing will include:

- Luke Rowe (3rd Junior Omloop Het Volk 2007, winner of 2009 ZLM tour and more recently the GP Poggiana in Italy)
- Andy Fenn (Winner of 2008 Junior Paris Roubaix and current GB U23 road race champion
- Mark Christian (another cyclist from the Isle of Mann)
- Alex Dowsett (Formerly of Trek Livestrong. Current European U23 time trial champion, recent leader at Tour of Utah. Rumoured to be signing for Team Sky for next season)
- Plus 2 others, likely to be younger riders for development for the future. Maybe Erick Rowsell and Tim Kennaugh. Possibly Josh Edmonson (4th in this years Junior World road race champs.

Keukeleire should be going. He asked Cofidis if he could join the Belgian team in Tour de L'Avenir as prep for the U23 Worlds, and Cofidis gave him permission to do so.

Seems like Geniez is the big favorite here. Who else should I look for?

Yannick Eijssen can climb. He's BMC-bound for 2011.

I'll also be keeping an eye out for Marko Kump, Jan Tratnik, John Degelknob and Daniel Teklehaimanot.

Alex Dowsett should get the prologue if he rides, he got within a couple of seconds of Taylor Phinney a week or so ago at the Tour Of Utah prologue.

No idea on the overall win though.
