The teams with more than one rider have to commit - but it is already too late. And trek have to most riders of all in group 2. Kasia not looking in top top form.
Very strong of Van Anroij, and refreshing that there is something Wiebes cannot do / cannot follow on all clims.

But Shiring is not big and super powerful like MVDP, she seems much more like a Remco, small and aero and great at persisting with the effort. Same way she raced in CX.

Pieterse is probably the most Van der Poel-like if the three, but I don't see Van Anrooij as being the Remco type either.

Well done by her, but the other teams should have been prepared to follow Trek and SD Worx moves, though her initial acceleration also seemed like a tough act to match.

It was also impressive that her initial surge didn’t put her all that clear of the front group, but she didn’t let up and then the ones leading the chase couldn’t keep it up.

A beautifully constructed race by Trek who I consider to have the strongest squad in the ladies peleton, but at the same time, you had a chasing peleton with teams having multiple riders and strong climber types and they never fired a shot. The disappointing field was matched by the performance of the peleton.

Cat Ferguson, who finished 6th in the junior race at the CX WC, won the Piccolo Trofeo Binda ahead of Julie Bego, who was one of the better first-year juniors last year. Ferguson might not be as talented as Zoe Bäckstedt, but she seems quite promising.

Just won a national race in The UK on her debut, something even Backstedt and Pidcock couldn't manage. Hoping she can have a fuller season in CX this winter. Interview and bit of background on her from this week below:

Yeah, some day people will be confused about there being Cat threads in multiple parts of the forum.

Well done Shirin Van Anrooj, great ride and super strong. Love to see the cross girls win. SD Worx not the same team without Vollering/Kopecky, I think in the end they sacrifced all for Wiebes. Pity to see so many big names missing.
