I don't know whether Georgi lost control of her bike in that sprint or if she actually though she could get past Le Court and Rüegg, but it was definitely a deserved relegation.

Persico, as understand it, and some others apparently crashed in one of the descents because a man tried to cross the road. Maybe we do need banners hanging all along the race route to ensure the safety of both riders and spectators.

Thalita De Jong suffered a broken collar bone as a result of the spectator incident.
Perhaps it just me, but the incidents and resultant injuries all seem to be getting just too much with very little but platitudes and its 'just biking racing' comments afterwards.
I do wonder if SafeR really will make a difference, or is it just a talking shop that will make little real progress.

Cycling is run on open roads with most of it unbarriered. There is only so much you can do.
