Plapp doing plapp things

He could have paced the group and neutralized instead of going for the stage.

Jayco messed that up.

Plapp's mistake was that he attacked too late. he needed to attack inside the last 1km, seeing the final flattened somewhat in the last 150 metres. I will add that Plapp spoke to both Schmid and Double during the climb so you can only assume tactics were discussed.

Ok, decisions was poor. They lost the stage and the GC. It is a fail, no matter how you see it.

schmid had a buffer and could use some help

plapp had to perform consistently if he wanted freedom
I agree with Plapp's consistency which I've been banging on forever, however, the tactics employed today to win the stage were fine. The team is out there to win, not to finish 2nd or third.

Against inferior rivals than today. Yates and Jayco aren´t the rivals of the French races.
Okay, beating Simon Yates in a 2.Pro is maybe not as impressive as beating Adam, but he also beat MAL, C-Rod and mythical 2022 Jack Haig. And two 13th places overall in the Vuelta isn't too shabby either.

So C-Rod gotta step it up if he doesn't wanna be the new Aldi C. Rodriguez. :D

Rodriguez has finished 2nd in a .pro stage race before and has these really good climbing performances in him occasionally. Scaroni to me is much more surprising, we all know what been going on but I didn't expect him to turn into someone who beats Adam yates on these mountain stages

The real talking point right now is Paul double abandoned by his team again, selfish riding from plap in the finalle.
Vinokurov is preparing GC Scaroni at the giro,

You can't compare Haig, who has more bad performances than good ones, with Adam Yates.

This isn't Aussie Nationals without radios - Plapp clearly had a green light from Schmid and the team as he already helped Schmid come back once when Yates first goes. I don't have a big problem with letting him go for the stage win really

Is Scaroni actually doing Murcia in two days as well? He's on the provisional startlist there.
i think thats sensible, but i think hell ride alpes maritimes instead of var. and then i hope he takes a breather in march and april and prepares properly for the giro this year

He's flying too early for that. He'll take care of the spring, and then Fortunato will be dropping a kometa in May.
Remember when we said Pogacar had peaked at the Giro in 2024 then he discovered an additional 20 watts in a month? That’s what it’s going to look like with Scaroni in May, some say the Tour of Oman/Giro is the real double.

Well it isn't the most often discussed ASO/RCS race combo, but since Nibali is the only one to have ever pulled it off it obviously hold the most value of them all.
