Good start for the Wanty boys. Rex with a powerful sprint to 4th and Page with a very good lead-out for Fretin.

Would be great if the ones that are now part of the merged team also start well cause the Lotto ones are all injured already

20s is too little. Would be a more interesting race dynamics with 40s

He still needs to solo on Skyview now I think, can't just win on boni's. That's a significant difference.

But yeah 30 or 40 would be better.

We also don't know how fit he's gonna be after the crash

Surprised he ended up only losing that much. No one must have gone all out after that second crash. That or something else happened as suggested on some previous posts.

Glad I didn’t keep Jakobsen in my CQ team. That would have been maddening to see him make a front echelon and look strong then manage to get dropped in the last km and score no points.

At least he has only 11 points to defend. But yeah, it wasn't ideal. I don't think he would have been able to make a front echelon at all last year, so there may have been a tiny improvement.

I choose to see the good. His base strength just isn't good enough, so he was most likely spent after trying to stay in the first group, but encouraging to see him there at all. Gaviria on the other hand....

I swear Jayco made exactly the same mistakes in the same race last year
There are no mistakes. Its simply that their two GC riders Hatherly and Double are not strong enough in the cross winds, despite the help of their teammates.

Anyway its always an enjoyable race with sprints, climbs and cross winds.

Everyone seems to be back except Eddie Dunbar. He wasn't in the first two big groups when it split, and I haven't seen him ever since.

The echelons and winds are of course awesome, but so much sand kicking about can't be good for the lungs. The scenery in general makes me think I'm watching a Mad Max movie...

The teams in this stage are crazy. They should make Lidl ride at the front to weaken their leadout for Milan.
