See that G. Bennett had to call it a day after his crash on day 1. Surprised he made it to stage 5 to be honest from the video of him.
19 guys with more then 3 minutes - I thought Lazkano from Movistar was a classics rider but he's been up there climbing well. As we're in Switzerland, I suppose a Hirschi win is a possibility.

Hirschi worked super hard yesterday and finished 24th. I give him a great chance of winning also with the descent

Let's not forget that his preparation for this season was disrupted by injury and this is only the second race he is doing as a consequence, so he is surely not in top shape.

His watts in the Vuelta last year were similar to Pogačar in Vuelta 2019 while being one year younger and racing on the same team so its normal that people compare the two of them.
Now that I think about it, is it possible Pog's Vuelta debut was more impressive than Remco's?
I certainly remember Pog's better and it was so long ago

edit - lol i just woke up and opened this thread so of course i assumed it was a comparison with Remco, but after reading a few other posts guess its Ayuso being discussed haha

Neither WvA, nor Higuita, Powless & Costa gave me the impression that they've got better shape than Hirschi currently.

Might be different today, but on paper he's got a shot being the strongest on Albulapass even.
