It makes no sense to use Velasco as a name for Contador and it is the name of another cyclist. Can you guys please stop using it, I get confused all the time.
Yeah its pretty stupid:rolleyes:

Yes, he did!

1. Alberto Contador (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) 3:32:12
2. Diego Ulissi (Lampre-ISD) +15
3. Fredrik Kessiakoff (Astana) +24
4. Joaquín Rodriguez (Katusha) +36
5. Carlos Betancur (Acqua&Sapone) +36
6. Fabio Taborre (Acqua&Sapone) +43
7. Domenico Pozzovivo (Colnago CSF) +45
8. Chris Sorensen (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) +46
9. Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale) +48
10. Franco Pellizotti (Androni-Venezuela) +53

that's destroying the field alright lol

Seems pretty obvious, lombardia will be Gilbert vs Contador

warning: spoilers :D

from the Lampre mailing list:

After the neutralization of a long breakaway whose members were Rocchetti and Balloni, Capecchi escaped from the group on the first passage on the climb of Superga, followed by Niemiec, who later crashed in the downhill. Capecchi was reached at the beginning of the second climb on Superga by a group of 8 cyclists (Marzano and Ulissi in it for Lampre-ISD): the battle for the victory seemed to be between Kessiakoff and Ulissi at 1 km to go, but Contador wiped out their hopes attacking in the final 800 meters.

Do you get to choose which one you use or is your father's name more commonly used? Or guys takes dads name and girls take mums?

This is turning into a spanish culture lesson now!!

First father's name, then mother's name. Father's name is been used.

Not always. If father's name is very common some people use both or only their mother's name if it is less common.

Never only mothers name, or maybe only for some political reason (I've read some stories of Basque people doing stuff like that). Fathers name is normal last name, mothers name is only exceptionally used.
