A good old race that has/had to struggle a lot too.

See here, what they did to this race. Best to put it into google-translate, because English RuK wikipage is terrible. Also this race is big event for many hobby cyclists, and a big meeting day for German cycling community.

Really sad to see that WDR doesn't show any livecoverage this year.
Can't believe it....
So, this thread is somehow useless, but I did it anyway - for Artur.
btw, of course WDR belongs to the ARD/(ZDF) group.

Thats especially sad for Arthur Tabat, who is the soul of this race. This old man, Mr. Rund um Köln, has so much passion and gives it all.
A big hug to him.

Question is, who is that national team working for? Ciolek? Hondo? This race has a recent tendency to go to the sprint, so who's in the best position for that? Rabobank look quite strong with Brown and Matthews. I really want to see NetApp get some good points under their belt too - it's nice to see a German team with some ambition at this point in time. Marcel Kittel for Skil-Shimano could be an interesting prospect as well - he can sprint as well as time trial and could be a useful spanner in the works of some of the more organised teams. I'm sure Janorschke or Radochla, at least one of the two, will get a top 10 for Nutrixxion-Sparkasse too.

Frankfurt's the big German one-day race for me though.

1 Matthews (RABO)
2 Kittel (SKS)
3 Nizzolo (LEO)
4 Kopp (TRS)
5 Kroupis (LAN)
6 Janorschke (TSP)
7 Dietziker (APP)
8 Jarc (ADR)
9 Weylandt (LEO)
10 Hollanders (SKT)

Nice to see Rabobus end their disappointing April on a high note. First win for them since the Tirreno I think.

Also, great to see Matthews win again. Kid has been riding a lot this season so far, but seems to be handling it well. Real workhorse.

They've done far better stuff than this in their "disappointing" April... like podiuming in Roubaix.

Anyway, well done to young Bling.

Yes, the top-10 is a who's who of "who the feck is that?"

A turkey shoot for Michael Matthews. Not many sprinters there to be fair.

I want to see a Swift, Greiple, Matthews head to head again because they're an even match. Maybe throw Bos in as well if he gets up to speed.
