What was the situation at this stage last year? Had Vino already gone? Had Gilbert already left Piti and Evans. I dont remember at what kms the action happened then.

It was already Vino/Kolobnev-Gilbert/Evans/Valverde at this stage.

Much more grouped this year. Although last year the bunch wasn't that far behind Gilbert/Evans/Valverde by the end.

They need to send Frank up the road and Andy can sit on Gilbert while he gets dragged back.

they won't get away from PG on the flats. they have to wait for the next climb to attack.

They'd much rather come 2nd and 3rd than 1st and 9th. It's just their mentality.

...maybe Garmin/Cervelo need to merge again...

Yeah that's what I meant. Would've been better for them if there was another hill before Saint-Nicholas.

chase starting to whip up in peleton...maybe not.

Meh... It's Astana's dregs doing the work in the peloton. If there was any chance for a bridge it was when Anton and Kolobnev went when the gap was still a manageable 25 secs.

If the Schlecks screw this up then they should be ashamed of themselves. I think it's Andy's race. Unless Gilbert is just ridiculously strong.

Sky were just chasing a little, so you know things are bad. GVA might get caught if he cracks but the other three are staying away.
