Most boring race of 2011.
Leo might have loads of riders from Saxo 2010, but tactics are not at pro-level.
Why is it that the Schleck's often prefer to ride for 2nd or 3rd instead of trying everything to win, but risking to lose big? I will never get it.
At least, the strongest and best won.

no.
maybe in terms of expectation (tho PN might still take that cake.. tho we were aware of the course), but fleche was really boring. Schlecks made it worse. I dunno if they could attack or not, but their inactivity didn't help.

I absolutely love gilbert, so I really can't say I hated this.

If it weren't for Gilbert wearing a different coloured jersey to the Schlecks I'd have thought I was watching a repeat of the infamous Mapei Roubaix.

Is Gilbert a lock to win the World Tour this year?

It'll be between him and whoever can podium 2GTs.

Congrats to gilbert on the triple so unbeatable, so dominant but would have liked to seen a schleck win or van avermaet. I think van avermaet has earned the name of van savage from van average am i not wrong? but gilbert killed van avermaet on the saint nicholas kinda sad.

he will probably win a stage or two at the tour.
Should win Glb, and if he rides the Canadian races, might be up there also.
Sure he will pick up pints somewhere else to. So yeah, I like him for the WT.

Gilbert deserved to win. Period!
Gilbert deserved to win against riders who tried to win. If the Schlecks had ridden intelligently, and Gilbert had beaten them (which was likely), his victory would have been more glorious. To become a legend you need your rivals to be up to the challenge. Gilbert might be good enough to be a legend, but if his rivals aren't they're taking away the glory from his achievements.

this.

also would've paid good money to see these dumbf*ck schleck fans at the finishline like last weke in agr. they are the most pathetic excuse for sportsfans(and I use both terms sports and fans very lightly) I've ever seen.

I don't care how dead you are. You have to at least try.

I know they want the podium so badly, but they could have at least tried during the last kilometer and still had their guaranteed podium spots.

Turns out Gilbert is a winner in more ways than one.

They just panned quickly to his wife holding their baby-man, what a hottie!!!

And his baby is an absolute cutie!!!

He's seen more podiums than anyone he'll ever race with in the future, that's for sure. Quite a head start for the little tyke!!!

definetly van savage for greg van avermaet. Sorry but I generally have little to get excited about with BMC!:p

at least BMC got something out of the race without two of their best ardennes riders. van avermaet really was the strongest of the breakaway. if he could hold on the saint nicholas chances were that he would be able to sprint for victory.

Really bummed to see Vino go down with a flat. :(

Garmin however...

They're saving themselves for the GTs.

So, so sly. Very clever, JV.

It would of been great to see Phil or Greg win the worlds last year, timmy.

Man, I was shouting so hard when phil flew past me, I was devastated when he got caught, but found my voice again (shouting at a giant screen woo) when terpstra went on a hero attack :p

i have always liked van avermaet.

It would *have* been great, but Greg still has to improve a little to be a worthy world champion. Anyway, judging by today's performance he might get there. I still have trouble seeing him as a winner, but he has talent and is a fighter.
