I am sickened by some people on this forum. Just sickened. I have mentioned Schopenhauer's definition of Schadenfreude a couple of times recently, so I am not going to do it again. Either these are terrible people, or else the anonimity of the internet brings out the worst in them.

also would've paid good money to see these bumbf*ck schleck fans at the finishline like last weke in agr. they are the most pathetic excuse for sportsfans(and I use both terms sports and fans very lightly) I've ever seen.

Suggestion: Start by learning how to spell "bumbf*ck".

It would *have* been great, but Greg still has to improve a little to be a worthy world champion. Anyway, judging by today's performance he might get there. I still have trouble seeing him as a winner, but he has talent and is a fighter.

I find the development of his career quite fascinating tho. He killed the sprints in that one vuelta. I think continued focus in these sort of finishes will reap rewards down the road. I can see him taking one of them one day.

Is Gilbert a lock to win the World Tour this year?

It'll be between him and whoever can podium 2GTs.

Contador (if he survives a ban) and Evans (already runs on the board from T-A with Tour and Vuelta ahead) are the only ones I can see beating him.

UCI Rankings is harder to win as a one-day specialist imo.

Oh, if you're going to try to defend the tactics of the Schlecks, I'll go grab some popcorn. It's going to be fun.

Ok, I'm ready. Go ahead.

Greg VA's ride was great today. Gilbert showed the Schlecks who was boss on the last hard climb. After that the race was over and the Schlecks knew it. They were only doing enough then to stay ahead of the chasers. Neither one can sprint and they were never going to gap Gilbert who is the form of his life. They knew their best would not be good enough today. Dunno why so many people think they got it wrong. Just outclassed.

If Leopard have the same tacticians at the helm, anything can happen. I think Gesink will do well too.

Shame on me :(:(

Whilst I thought Tony had no chance for top10, I respect you for putting it on the line for him today, and admitting when you are wrong.

I hope you continue to post as these are the sorts of things which make the Forum fun.

Righteous indignation is definately the way to ignore your heroes performing like cowards...

Seriously, save this sort of post for when people start the death threats.

i did :D

I think gesink is an outside chance, but it really depends on his mental state, motivation and how his training works out. He can be a great climber, and his position change on a tt bike has done wonders for him (produces a lot of power, so by all rights he should be able to do a good tt)

I hope he has a bit of a break now. Glad that the early part of the season is over for his sake.

Any chance Lotto now owes Leopard a huge favour? I'm struggling with the notion that even the Schlecks can be this daft.

Awesome!

My own personal pride, of having voted yes in that poll asking if Gilbert could finish the Ardenner-tripple, was not dissappointed. (And I've actually begun to quite like that guy!)

The Schlecks, whom I still consider some of my fave riders, yeah, I don't give a damn about the whole escape from Saxo last season, in as a neat #2 and #3.

And, not to forget; Chris Anker Sørensen who came in as #6! :D

For a brief moment I even had some (probably rather silly) hopes for Nicki Sørensen.
