This'll continue either until he's forced to abandon a GT, or until someone of the team tells him that they simply can't put him on the team for one of the GTs.
It won't stop because he decides he don't wanna do it anymore and would much rather stay at home and relax.

That's not gonna happen anytime soon.

Love Hansen...he is brilliant and a great guy...but he doesn't just ride Grand Tours he wins stages as well

2013 ...Giro
2014...Vuelta

He has a real shot this Tour cause Lotto will start without a GC guy. Lotto will probably start with a team for the flat stages built around Greipel (Henderson, Sieberg) and a lot of attackers like Gallopin, Wellens and probably De Gendt. Adam can just like De Gendt do both so he will get his chance in the non-sprinter stages. For the record, also Vanendert (depends on his injury) is pretty sure to get a place in the Tour team. Also Boeckmans (in great form), De Clercq and Bak are in the running for the last spot (Boeckmans in 1st at the moment).

Be good to see him come home one year soon and see how he performs in the crocodile trophy again - would expect him to do well with all those road ks in his legs.

Yes, most pros do but for a white, Anglo Australian it's quite rare to speak anything other than English - even amongst some pros.

Hansen speaks Czech, Italian, Flemish, French and German quite fluently.

How could you possibly know that ? Often it just comes with time. Anderson, Evans and McEwen are all fluent in other languages. Contador is supposed to be a good English speaker but you hardly ever hear him speak English. But you are right about Hansen, he is a one off. I hope he breaks the record for consecutive GTs. The thing about Hansen is that he is his own man. Lives in a country others don't, makes his own shoes, happy riding GTs, businessman, multi lingual. Even his interviews are more entertaining than most.

Apparently Adam Hansen has a dislocated shoulder and is still riding on. Of course, with AC it's a big palava and with Hansen it's just expected and hardly even news :>
As if Hansen didn't consciously and actively cultivate his tough guy persona for marketing purposes.
This exactly. Also this whole "I ride all GT's and complete them" stuff.. I mean, who really cares? But I guess he's done a good job marketing wise.

That's the cynics way of looking at things.
Hansen himself is quite shy and doesn't really actively seek out the publicity. He enjoys long efforts, he can sustain them, and he also actually does win from time to time. It's not like he's a marketing machine first and foremost - I don't buy that (haha).

It isn't the same palaver because Adam Hansen is trying to win the first part of an historic double! No offence to him - I like the guy and really glad he's continuing and long may he continue to ride every GT going - but its obvious he's in a lot better position to hide out in the peloton for a day or so, nursing his shoulder, whereas AC already had a target on his back from the other GC contenders.

As for AH cultivating his image - full marks for finding his niche, exploiting it in a rather nice way, and giving off what always seem to me pretty happy vibes whilst doing it. He brings more limelight to the team and cycling in general, as well as himself, and that helps to keep the sponsors happy.

Thanks I came here to find out how he was!

Well Adam isn't ever likely to win the overall and it didn't happen while in the leaders jersey so the news effect is much lower.

He is a Beast and I wish him well in any race he rides. But I'm dropping him from my NBCSN team :).

A quick glance at the AC thread should reveal I'm a bit of a fan - I did not mean for the AC comparison to be taken too seriously.
