Ciccone and the Androni guys will be forced to go all out on the MTF because of the TTT.
For the overall it should be Trek (Brambilla, Pantano, Felline and maybe Conci) vs UAE (Atapuma, Ravasi and Conti).
Other than that you still have Arslanov who was in great shape in Slovenia, Koshevoy just came back from an injury and Wilier aren't exactly great in the TTT.
Will be interesting to see what the Trevigiani Phonix guys will be able to do against this kind of field, it should be a great learning experience.

Koshevoy must have the highest ratio of mentions in this forum to actual results.

I'd like to go on record (again) about TTTs: stupid, and especially so as the first stage. I know there is the tradition argument, but most of cycling tradition has changed so its time for TTTs to go live in the blacksmith's shop.

So Ciccone or Sosa could win the MTF solo by one minute and still not win the race just because they're on 2nd division teams...

I get it, you want to make the climbers attack from further out so you make them lose time early. BUT THAT'S WHAT ITT'S ARE FOR FFS

UAE finished second and they didn't have a particularly roleur-heavy team.

Can somebody explain to me how UAE ended in 2nd?
And even more mind boggling, how could Atapuma finish with them?

Rather poor field, Conti is good in shorter TTs, Mori, Consonni and Swift are good riders for a TTT and many of the Trek guys are not on their usual level (Brambilla, Felline, Nizzolo).

So tomorrow stage 2. Do you think Viviani and Cavendish can hold on in that tricky finale? I'm not sure. I'll go with Trentin for this one! Hopefully also Felline can show something.

Will be interesting to see how Trentin has recovered from his injury.

He couldn't keep up with the rest of the Italian team yesterday, so it seems like he'll struggle today as well. Is this Canola time?

Tomorrow the Giau MTF. Ciccone vs. Sosa vs. Brambilla vs. Conti vs. Ravasi ?
Thinking we can expect more from Conci and Stetina than Brambilla on Trek

I was thinking the same, Brambilla already lost time today, but they'd probably need to have an advantage over the UAE guys. Felline seems to be on the way back, but he'd actually need to gain time on Ravasi and Conti and I don't think that's realistic.

If Cavendish is dropped on this weak stuff he's not gonna finish tomorrow. Actually, on this form, he's not gonna finish the Tour. Guy is done for.

Didn't he have a puncture?

I dont remeber who said that Asgreen is prone to crashes, when he signed for QS, but he really has crashed in almost every race since he started for them.

I tend to agree but then again I already thought the same before the 2016 tdf

Just seen Brambi tried an attack yesterday, so that might explain the time loss
