lol, what?Climber123 said:He clearly had the measure of Froome today. Near the top he opened a nice gap, looked back and like.. Yeah I got this![]()

By the way, Alberto says his objective is to win a stage and finish as high up on the GC as possible, ideally on the podium.
Stetina is a very underrated climber in GTs. He's not a GC rider, but has always been a very strong domestique. His crash a few years ago halted his development but he really seems to be getting back to his prior level.LaFlorecita said:He looked good today and yesterday and Stetina looked really good today as well. I just saw he crashed in at the top of the final climb thoughhopefully he recovers, he can be really useful.
The Andorra time loss is unfortunate but maybe it's better this way. Of course if he finishes within 2:30 of the winner it'll suck majorly but if not, at least we can enjoy him without being nervous about GC all the time.
I reckon TJ will manage to eliminate himself one way or another.Climber123 said:LaFlorecita said:I don't think Froome is much stronger than Alberto. Agreed, they are two strongest climbers in the race. Froome did not enjoy following Alberto at all.If anything Alberto almost snapped the elastic towards the top. Podium is realistic especially because of this and the 40+km TT which could eliminate all but Froome ,TJ and Nibali.

I agree best to keep the hype train still stationary and wait for more tests on multiple long climbsGigs_98 said:Not sure if Contador is as strong as Froome. On climbs like todays or yesterday, yeah it looked like it. However I fear that on longer mountain stages with more than one serious climb he will be clearly worse.

Froome won't look comfortable on my wheel either when I'm hammering it at a massive 500 VAM. It's just how he looks.Electress said:More than anything, just lovely to see Berto shredding the peloton. I don't think Froome looked that comfortable, but I'm not sure it means anything.
Little by little, keeping up the pressure.... He might not win, but hopefully it'll tire Sky and Froome out, and that way there's more of a chance there'll be a race rather than a parade.
Fran. Contador was funny! Trolling us fans!
He has no personal ambition at all which is admirable.perico said:

Voldemor did though clearly fear Harry, so that doesn't really work.
He did finish 19th and 21st overall in the Vuelta, both of which are more notable results than the one in the link.LaFlorecita said:He has no personal ambition at all which is admirable.perico said:
Don't forget he wouldn't be in cycling anymore if Alberto hadn't asked Astana to sign him in 2009.
Nonetheless he has had some decent results on mountain stages, IMO he could have been a Monfort type of rider, between 10th and 20th on GC in GTs.
I remember a funny comment by Jesus in an interview some years back, that when they were just getting started Jesus would always beat Alberto.
