Well, then I don't agree. "All but one" is kind of a hyperbole, but he certainly had no trouble attacking the other climbers throughout the race. Something I don't think Wiggo is capable of.

In stage 12, 14 and 18 he struggled. He attacked in stage 19.

I'm wondering what the fangirl comments are Susan is talking about

There's little doubt in my mind that Contador would have beaten the Sky guys, no matter what the parcours. He'd take a minute on Wiggo on La Toussuire, to name just one stage.

TdF 2009 Contador would. TdF 2010 Contador and TdF 2011 Contador wouldn't. Would have been exciting to see which Contador would have turned up.

TdF 2010 Contador might have but then he would have been disqualified so probably a moot point.

DQ or not, Contador was, for no apparent reason, below his usual level (whatever that means) in TdF 2010. Andy would have won if he had attacked earlier on the Avoriaz stage. In 2011 there's the obvious Giro+crash explanation. In Giro '08 he didn't exactly have an optimal preparation. But 2010 TdF is a bit of a mystery to me.

Think The kenyan would have given him a good challenge for the victory.

Hope next year we get to see an epic battle between Bertie, Andy and the kenyan. Cycling as a sport need it more than ever imo.

I was never a big fan of Contador, but I respect him a lot as a champion.

I also disliked Wiggins and Froome, but after Froome's actions on stage 17 I ****in hate that guy and I want him to get obliterated in every ****ing GT until 2050.

TDF 2010 Contador definitely would as well. Him and Schleck were just playing with the opposition, track stands and all.

Don't forget that this opposition also included a certain B. Wiggins.

Will be good to see him back.

I don't think he would have beaten Brad and Sky on this parcours, and looks to have his hands full with Froome in future tours. I dread to think what Froome is capable of with a full winter's preparation.

Froome barely took 40 seconds on Contador's toy this Tour.

Wiggins was 1'35" behind Contador on the Avoriaz stage. I think it's fair to say that the climbs to Avoriaz and La Toussuire are quite similar both being hard at the bottom and then easing off. Wiggins and his team has changed a lot though in strength and experience.

Take JVDB as a reference point (which I think is the most fair as he's probably the only gc rider whose performances in 2010 and 2012 TdF that can be compared): he was in the same group as Contador on the Avoriaz stage but was a bit slower than Wiggins in the mountains this year (even disregarding his loss on stage 7).

But he still deserves a lifetime ban

Quote-"Alberto Contador fangirl.

My opinion may be biased.

15 days till the return of the greatest cyclist alive." end quote

The greatest cyclist still alive is Eddy Merckx.

Contador is old news and will never be what he once was, dope or no.

If he and his 'team' participated in this years TdF, Sky would have still won.
