Alexander Kristoff

Kristoff must be one of the most muscled riders. I had him as one of the favorites for the European title, but after we didn't see him there I didn't have have high expectations for his Tour. It turns out he crashed on his head on Wednesday. As a former winner of two monuments he's certainly a worthy wearer of yellow - although surely it will only be for one day.

So he stays at ninety-eight wins forever. It's a pity that it ends with a crash, but he's had a big career. His win in the Tour of Flanders was the highlight, when he proved to be a lot more than just a sprinter. Some of his smaller wins were also impressive, like the Three Days of De Panne and that Scheldeprijs in apocalyptic weather.
Yeah, so close to 100.,🥲

At least he's not seriously hurt. He doesn't strike me as a rider with particularly many crashes despite his countless high speed finishes.

I've often been surprised to see him so high up in the UCI ranking. He was always good at getting results throughout the season.

Really sad to see Kristoff retire with a dnf.

He had a great career won two monuments and other important classics, 4 Tour stages and could have been even greater if he had been just a tiny bit faster in the Bergen Worlds in 2017, when he finished just centimiters away from taking the World title on home roads.

The end of a successful sprinting and classics career with; 4 Tour stages, 2 monuments and 16 top 10s, multiple classic success, EC, and Olympic and Worlds medals. Bad way to end a career but he can look back at his success with joy. I hope he has a good and well earned retirement.

AK can't end on a DNF. He should add a race so that he can roll across the finish line to end a great, long career.

I agree, if it's just skin scrapes, he should do a del Toro, enter some lesser races coming up in France & Italia and win. Victory in his last race will be a better memory. Who he defeats will be forgotten.

He does not seem bothered about 100 pro wins, he's happy with 102 UCI wins, including a junior race in France and 3 National road champs.
